Starting from the Samsen area, you will ride through small alleys to reach Ratchadamnoen Avenue, often called the “Champs-Élysées of Bangkok”. You will pass by the Democracy Monument, built to commemorate the transition of the Kingdom of Siam to a constitutional monarchy.
You will then admire the Mahajetsadabindha Royal Pavilion and make a detour to the Mahanak Fort, one of the few remaining vestiges of Bangkok’s old fortified city. Next, you will discover Wat Saket and its impressive Phu Khao Thong (Golden Mount), whose construction spanned from the 18th to the 20th century.
Your journey will continue along the Mahanak canal (klong) towards the Bobae Market, once a local trading place and now a hotspot for affordable textiles. Nearby, you will take a break at the Mahanak Market to taste exotic fruits and local delicacies in an authentic atmosphere.
You will then head to Wat Yuan Saphan Khao, built under King Rama V in a style mixing Chinese and Vietnamese influences, before reaching Wat Benchamabophit (the “Marble Temple”).
The ride will go on past the Anti-Corruption Museum and the wide avenues of the district, home to several ministries and government buildings. You will admire the Dusit Palace, royal residence, as well as the majestic Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, built in a European style.
To finish your visit, you will head to Wat Indharaviharn, famous for its 32-meter-high golden Buddha statue, before returning to the starting point.
