Take a half-day guided tour of the town of Szentendre, explore the colourful buildings and cobbled streets, and sample a Hungarian speciality!
You'll meet your guide in the centre of Budapestand then take a bus to the small town of Szentendre, 30 minutes north of Budapest. Szentendre was founded on the ruins of the Roman city of Aquincum and is a small town with cobbled streets and a lively centre with a Mediterranean vibe. Szentendre is also called the "Artists' Town" due to its numerous art galleries and museums.
You'll follow your guide for a walking tour of the centre, then dig into a traditional Hungarian dish: Lángos, a delicious fried flatbread. You'll then have some free time to continue strolling, buy souvenirs or visit Szentendre's numerous museums including the ceramics museum and the confectionery museum.
You'll then be taken back to Budapest after half a day in Szentendre. The return journey is by boat along the Danube from May to September, or by bus for the rest of the year.
