Set off to discover the Royal Château of Blois and time travel on a grand scale!

Listed as an historic monument since 1845, the Château of Blois is considered one of the most impressive castles in the Loire Valley. Located in the heart of Blois, it is often the first castle visited on the Loire Valley Châteaux tour, as it is an essential part of their history. 

You will discover a castle that will intrigue you, a combination of four centuries of architecture, four different eras coming together around the same courtyard. It is a testimony to the evolution of French architecture from the 13th to the 17th century, from the Court to the Renaissance.

Beyond this particularity, it is also a place that contains many secrets of the French Court...! Seven kings and ten queens have reigned in succession here, and several historical events have taken place, including dramas, plots and power games.

You will be able to admire the sumptuously decorated and furnished rooms, such as the Estates General room, Henry III's bedroom, and royal flats, which will transport you centuries back in time, into the daily life of the royals.

Finally, don't miss the three museums housed within the castle itself: the archaeological museum, the lapidary museum and the Fine Arts museum!

  • You are asked to select a provisional date when booking. Please note, however, that you will be able to visit on the date of your choice before the end of your ticket's expiry date
  • The ticket purchased is nominative, you may be asked for an identity document
  • This ticket allows you to avoid going through the ticket office and to access the checkpoints at the entrance to the château directly
  • Free admission for under 6s, people with disabilities and holders of the Blois Culture Pass, on presentation of proof - available only on site at a ticketing point
  • Reduced rate granted to students, teachers on individual visits, adults in large families and jobseekers (on presentation of proof dated less than 6 months) - available only on-site
  • Visitors with disabilities benefit from free admission. Free admission is also granted to people accompanying wheelchair users, blind or partially sighted people, or when an accompaniment is necessary and specified on the supporting document
  • The areas accessible for wheelchair users are: the courtyard, the chapel, the ground floor of the François 1er wing (architectural rooms), the exteriors (slightly sloping) and the shop
  • The histopad is included in the entrance fee subject to availability, except for free tickets
  • Only small bags that can be carried in front are allowed in the rooms, A locker is available for other bags
  • Pushchairs are not allowed on the tour circuit
  • A baby changing area and a pushchair parking area are available free of charge
  • Baby carriers with metal frames are not allowed within the castle grounds
  • Pets are not allowed within the castle grounds
  • For all equipment loans, ID will be required
  • Please note that all tickets issued are non-changeable and non-refundable and may not be cancelled
