Enjoy an unforgettable experience as you discover Mount Emei, the Leshan Giant Buddha and the Sichuan panda centre during your private 3-day excursion to Mount Emei!
- Day 1: visit to the Leshan panda centre – night at the foot of Mount Emei
A shuttle bus will pick you up from your hotel to take you to the Sichuan panda centre. You will be able to get close to the pandas and see them eating and playing. The tour of the research centre will enable you to see pandas of all ages.
After lunch, you will be taken to Leshan, where you will see the Giant Buddha, a unique UNESCO World Heritage site. Your guide will tell you about the history of this statue, which was built in the 8th century at the junction of three rivers to protect passing ships.
Then, take a cruise on the Min River. From the boat, you will enjoy amazing views of the statue, which rises to a height of 71 metres. Late in the afternoon, you will be taken to your hotel at the foot of Mount Emei.
- Day 2: day at Mount Emei – night at the summit of Mount Emei
You will first visit the Baoguo temple at the foot of Mount Emei, from where you can enjoy stunning views of the mountain. Take this opportunity to admire the architecture of this complex, which consists of four temples and gardens. Mount Emei is one of the four sacred mountains of Chinese Buddhism and is home to many temples.
During your walk, you will be able to admire the valleys, cliffs, waterfalls and lush forests that have made Mount Emei popular with Chinese people since ancient times. Your shuttle bus will then take you to the Mount Emei scenic area.
Then, take the cable car to reach the Golden Summit. You will explore the Golden Summit temple with its statue of Bodhisattva Samantabhadra, its Golden Palace and its Silver Palace.
Spend the night in a hotel at the summit of Mount Emei.
- Day 3: day at Mount Emei – return to Chengdu
After breakfast, you will descend half way down the mountain, where you will be able to explore the Wannian temple, an important site in Chinese Buddhism. The serene faces of the believers will radiate a sense of calm.
Then, take a walk in the mountains, where you may see monkeys!
Lastly, a shuttle will take you back to your hotel in Chengdu.
