Enjoy a day trip from Edinburgh to Alnwick Castle and see Northumberland's scenery!
Departing from central Edinburgh, start your journey by heading towards the Scottish-English border to the south.
You will first visit Kelso, where visitors wll have free time to explore the biggest market place in Scotland and visit the ruins of an abbey, which are from the conflict between Scotland and England.
Next, continue further south and cross the border to see the majestic Alnwick castle, one of the biggest Count's castles in Northumberland. Built to protect the northern England from Scottish invasion, the castle is famous today for having been filmed during the Harry Potter series. In October, the inside is off limits but visitors may still walk through the gardens.
You will have 3 hours to visit Alnwick castle before boarding the bus and heading bacck north along Northumberland's coast. Admire the scenery along the way, and stop to see some of the lesser known beaches.
