Take a day trip to the countryside and vineyards of the Algarve!
Between the Atlantic Ocean and the mountains, the region enjoys a perfect microclimate for wine production. Your tour will start with a visit to the town of Silves, former capital of the Algarve. You will have some free time to visit its red sandstone castle, located on a hill and built by the Moors in the 10th century. Next will be a visit to the town's Gothic Cathedral, also made of red sandstone, before taking the road through the Monchique Mountains, to Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve at 902 metres above sea level, from where you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view. It is also here that you will enjoy tasting one of the region's traditional liqueurs. You will enjoy free time for lunch (lunch not included). Finally, you will head to Quinta dos Vales, a winery located in the heart of the Algarve, where you will enjoy a guided tour of a vineyard and its cellars. You will have the opportunity to taste local wines and enjoy home-made bread with some of the best olive oil. You will be driven back to your accommodation after a tour of the Algarve vineyards.
