Explore Hanoi and sample its delicious food with this culinary tour!
You'll meet your local guide at the entrance to Dong Xuan Market, the city's largest market and where the tour begins. Your guide will tell you all about the traditions of Vietnamese culture, and dishes that are popular in Hanoi and the north of the country. As you wander around the market you'll taste all sorts of specialities like banh mi, the famous baguette filled with meat, vegetables and condiments.
After exploring the market, you'll stroll through the lively streets of Hanoi's old quarter, and sample the city's famous banh cuon (a kind of steamed pancake), in a local restaurant.
Your next stop will be a bun cha stand, a Vietnamese dish made with grilled pork (cha) and white rice noodles (bún). Don't eat too much as you'll then enjoy a grilled nem chua (a type of spring roll) and a fruit salad, two of the city's best-known snacks.
Finally, your guide will take you to one of Hanoi's best-kept secrets: a café with a breathtaking view of Hoan Kiem Lake. This café is one of the few that still serves egg coffee, a local speciality that you can sip while admiring the city centre.
