Explore the Kona coastline on an early morning sea excursion and dive into Hawaii's crystal clear waters!
To start your day, you'll head to Keauhou Bay where you'll board a covered boat for an excursion lasting approximately 4 and a half hours. During this experience, you will enjoy two diving stops as well as a meal and snacks included in your booking. Your captain will be at your side throughout, sharing stories and the history of the sites you visit. You'll also have the opportunity to explore lava tubes and sea caves from your boat.
The first part of your morning will take you to the famous Kealakekua Bay, renowned for its historic encounter between Hawaiians and Western explorers. This bay, discovered by James Cook and his ships in 1779, is home to a monument in honour of Captain Cook that you can see from your boat or even from the water.
Kitted out with snorkelling gear, you'll dive into the warm, pleasant waters and explore a major coral reef of the region. You'll see sea turtles and may even even dolphins if you're lucky. Your second stop will take you to Honaunau Bay, once a refuge for defeated warriors and civilians in ancient Hawaii. This bay abounds in reefs home to a multitude of tropical fish.
On the way back, you'll enjoy a picnic lunch (sandwich or salad) served by the crew. When you book, you can choose from a range of packages.
