Leaving from your hotel in Johannesburg, you'll head to the Sterkfontein prehistoric caves (located about an hour's drive away). Your guide will tell you about the history of these caves and the incredible heritage found inside: from 1890 onwards, archaeological digs at the caves uncovered fossils dating back several million years. These discoveries led to Sterkfontein being called the "Cradle of Humankind"!
During your tour, you'll see stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over the centuries and visit the science museum with its collection of prehistoric fossils and skeletons! You can also stop for a break at the restaurant and pick up a few souvenirs from the gift shop.
At the end of this fascinating archaeological excursion, you'll be driven back to your hotel.
