Set off on a private excursion across Montenegro, visiting the old town of Budva and taking a cruise on Lake Skadar!
Your private driver will meet you at your accommodation (only in Kotor and its bay, Tivat and Podgorica). You will board the minivan and set off for a day of discovery across Montenegro.
Your first stop will be Budva, one of the oldest towns on the Adriatic, with its 15th-century ramparts. You will visit the historic centre of Budva on foot.
Your guide will take you to a viewpoint where you can admire the famous island of Sveti Stefan. A real picture postcard of Montenegro, Sveti Stefan is now home to some chic residences, and only residents are allowed to visit the island.
The second stop is the Rezevici monastery (Reževići), which, according to legend, was built in the 13th century. It houses 2 churches and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Don't hesitate to ask your guide about the strange legend surrounding the creation of this monastery...
Finally, you will reach Virpazar, a small village situated to the north of Lake Skadar (also known as Lake Shkodra). Lake Skadar is the largest lake in the Balkans, and is located in a national park of the same name that forms the border between Montenegro and Albania.
You'll climb aboard a traditional boat and cruise around Lake Skadar, home to a protected bird reserve and a wealth of flora and fauna.
At the end of the cruise, if you still have time, your guide will be happy to take you to a local restaurant near the lake and let you sample some traditional Montenegrin dishes.
You will be taken back to your accommodation at the end of the day's excursion.
