Take part in a Japanese sake tasting and enjoy a relaxing cruise around Fushimi, the sake brewery district in Kyoto!
Sake is the star of this private tour, and you'll get to taste different sakes, visit a museum where you can see how it's made and then enjoy a cruise around the brewery district of Fushimi. Your guide will reveal the secrets of how this Japanese rice alcohol is produced and explain the different tastes.
You'll meet your guide in town, and after a short train ride, you'll arrive at the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine where you can walk under and admire its famous red gates(torii).
You'll then take another train to the Gekkeikan Okura sake museum , and learn more about the history of Fushimi sake. This sake brewery was renovated and turned into a museum, so you can learn all about the methods and tools used to make this spirit.
You'll then climb aboard a traditional boat for a cruise on the Fushimi canals. You'll be able to admire the district, its numerous sake breweries, as well as the cherry and willow trees that line the banks.
After the cruise, you'll explore the district on foot and take a stroll along the Ryoma-dori shopping street.
This tour will conclude with a sake tasting and a small snack in a restaurant: You'll be able to taste 18 different kinds of sake!
At the end of the activity, you'll be taken back to the departure point by your guide.
