A must-see in Lyon, the Musée des Confluences tells the story of man and life. Discover the great story of humanity in four separate exhibitions covering more than 3,000 m² which trace the evolution of humanity since prehistoric times. 

At the heart of a monumental futuristic metal and glass structure designed by the Austrian agency CoopHimmelb, step back in time across the continents.

Explore the Musée des Confluences and exhbitions that cover 3 major fields: natural sciences, human sciences and sciences and techniques. These permanent collections are complemented by temporary themed exhibitions. (see details here)

  • Availability: Tuesday to Sunday except 01/01, 01/05 and 25/12 (and other exceptional dates)
  • Times: 10.30 am to 6.30pm, evening visit until 10pm every first Thursday of the month
  • Duration: approx. 3 hours, given as a rought guide, you can tour the museum at your leisure
  • You're asked to select a provisional date when booking. Please note that you'll be able to visit on your provisional date (ticket deadline: 10 October 2023)
  • The fast-track ticket provides admission to the museum but not entry to the exhibition spaces
  • Entrance to the museum is free for children under 18. All you have to do is ask for a child's ticket at the reception desk. You may be asked for proof of identity on site
  • To find out about concessions (young workers aged 18/25...) and free admission (students under 26, job seekers...) consult the ticket prices here
  • Last access is 45 minutes before the museum closes
  • The museum's rooms are cleared 15 minutes before the museum closes
  • The Musée des Confluences provides a free cloakroom service on presentation of the entry ticket
  • The museum is accessible to people with reduced mobility on Level -1 at the group entrance on the forecourt side
  • You can also go on a quick tour: a short 15-minute tour with a cultural guide who will show you the museum's highlights
