Set off from Lisbon on a day trip by bike to Sintra and Cascais, with a private guide!
You'll meet your private guide in the centre of Lisbon, near the Mouraria shopping centre. After a brief introduction and safety briefing, you'll get kitted out and hop on your electric bike, before making your way to Rossio station.
You'll take a train that will take you to Sintra in 40 minutes. The town of Sintra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is renowned as the starting point for visits to the many palaces that surround it.
You will discover Sintra off the beaten track and see its most beautiful palaces: the National Palace of Sintra and its two astonishing chimneys, the Quinta da Regaleira castle, the Palace of Monserrate and the Palace of Seteais, now a luxury hotel. You'll notice that they all have different architectural styles.
Head to the centre of Sintra and sample the town's traditional pastry: queijadas de Sintra, a sweet cheese tart.
For lunch (not included), you'll follow your guide to a traditional restaurant and have the chance to sample some typical Portuguese dishes.
After a well-deserved break, you'll cycle back to Cabo da Roca, the most westerly point on the European continent. Cabo da Roca offers panoramic views of the cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean. You will sail along the wild Praia do Guincho beach to reach Cascais.
A former fishing village, Cascais is now defined as the Portuguese Saint-Tropez and boasts a magnificent bay. You will make a stop and discover Cascais, again in the company of your private guide.
At the end of your excursion, you will return to Sintra and take a train to Lisbon.
