Meet the chimpanzees and other animals of the Ol Pejeta Nature Reserve on a day trip from Nairobi!
You will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi in the early morning. Head north to the Ol Pejeta animal conservation centre, around 200km away.
Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and home to two of the world's last remaining northern white rhinos. It is also the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary set up to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.
You will start your visit at the chimpanzee sanctuary. You can get up close to them and learn more about their history and their similarities to humans. Your guide will then take you on a safari in the nature reserve, where you can see the famous "Big Five" (lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhinoceros). You'll also cross paths with other savannah animals such as zebras, giraffes and antelopes.
You will then enjoy lunch in one of the reserve's restaurants (not included) before visiting the rhino sanctuary. Here you can meet the world's last two northern white rhinos, as well as the many surviving black rhinos.
Before heading back to Nairobi, you will visit a traditional Kenyan village. You will return to your hotel at the end of the day.
