Discover the Paiva footbridges and its famous suspension bridge on an excursion departing from Porto!
Departing from Porto, you'll be transferred from your hotel to the village of Areinho at the foot of the Arouca Geopark. Recognized by UNESCO for its exceptional geodiversity, the Arouca Geopark is home to the Paiva River, a magnificent footbridge hiking trail and a suspension bridge.
You'll start your adventure in the village of Areinho and climb 300 steps to reach the famous 516 Arouca bridge, suspended 175 metres above the Paiva River. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Paiva River and the Aguieira waterfall.
Continue your hike on the Paiva footbridges, which follow the river of the same name. This 8-kilometre walk offers panoramic views of the gorges and flora that surround you, a true immersion in nature. You'll make a stop at Vau beach, with your feet in the water. The hike ends in the village of Espiunca, where you'll enjoy a lunch break in a local restaurant, ideal for sampling the region's specialties.
You'll be taken back to your accommodation in Porto at the end of the day.
