Your excursion to Palma, the capital of the Balearic Islands, will start outside your hotel where you'll be picked up.
Located on Mallorca, thelargest island in the archipelago, Palma is a city that has stood the test of time, and is still home to many vestiges of its past.
Your walk will start at the Sea Park, located between the pier and the entrance to the old town. You'll then pass through the shadow of the King's Garden to the esplanade of la Seu, Palma's famous cathedral, dominating the Mediterranean. It's the second-largest religious building in Spain. From the outside, you can contemplate its Catalan Gothic architecture. Inside, you'll discover architectural masterpieces such as Antoni Gaudi's largest Gothic rose window in the world and a fresco by contemporary artist Miguel Barcelo.
Your tour of Palma will then continue through its narrow, colorful streets. Your guide will take you to theold Arab baths and then show you the Mallorcan palaces and their patios, hidden away in the city. Looking up, you'll catch a glimpse of Gaudi's modernist facades. Then your guide will make you taste an ensaimada, a traditional Mallorcan pastry made with lard (pork fat).
Then you'll arrive at the Olive Market, where you'll have some free time to stroll among the colorful stalls and let yourself be intoxicated by the smells of local produce.
The market will have whetted your appetite and it's time for lunch along the ramblas.You'll then enter an atypical restaurant with a warm, friendly atmosphere.
After lunch, you'll have the afternoon free to wander the streets of Palma at your leisure. The city is packed with traditional as well as luxurious boutiques. You can also discover art galleries, stroll along the harbor and beach, or enjoy the Mallorcan sunshine on a terrace.
You'll then be driven back to your hotel around 5pm.
