Explore the town of Karlovy Vary from Prague, and take the funicular up to the Diana observation tower!
You'll meet your guide in the centre of Prague, then take the road to Karlovy Vary, around two hours away. This is the western part of the Czech Republic, near the German border.
On arrival, you will take a funicular to the Diana observation tower overlooking the town of Karlovy Vary. Your guide will give you some information about this place steeped in history, which today houses a zoo and an exhibition on butterflies, and is also an ideal starting point for a hike.
You will then be taken on a guided tour of the historic centre of Karlovy Vary. Your guide will tell you lots of anecdotes about the town, which was once a spa called Carlsbad. Among other things, you will see the old and new Karlovy Vary thermal baths, the Church of St Mary Magdalene, the Jan Becher Museum housed in the building of the Becherovka (a strong spirit) factory, the Market Colonnade, the town theatre and much more.
You will then enjoy some free time in Karlovy Vary. You can then have lunch in a typical Czech restaurant or enjoy a picnic on one of the town's many squares.
You will be driven back to Prague after a day's excursion to Karlovy Vary.
