Descrizione

Explore the Langjökull Glacier on an excursion from Reykjavík with a snowmobile ride and a visit to an ice cave!

After travelling from Reykjavík in a comfortable minibus, you'll set off on a two-hour drive to Skjól camp, which is right next to the Langjökull glacier. On arrival, your guide will provide you with the necessary safety equipment ahead of your snowmobile tour. Zoom around for an hour on your snowmobile as you gaze at the unique scenery of Iceland's second largest glacier, also known as the 'White Glacier'.

Next, it's time for an ice cave tour. Explore the inside of the glacier and marvel at its unique crystal blue colour.  

You'll then head back to your minibus by snowmobile before departing to Reykjavík.

At the time of booking, you will be asked to choose whether you wish to be one or two people on a snowmobile by selecting from the following categories:

  • 1 adult on a 2-person snowmobile (select twice or with a child as a passenger)
  • 1 adult on a snowmobile alone
  • 1 child (passenger)

Please note: the driver must hold a valid driving licence.

Buono a sapersi

  • Availability: every day from October to April (except in exceptional circumstances)
  • Departure time: between 7:30 and 10 am depending on your hotel; the exact time will be confirmed after booking
  • Departure location: Reykjavík, Iceland

  • When booking, please select the pick-up point for your transfer. The exact departure time will be communicated to you a few days beforehand
  • Children under 8 years of age cannot participate in this activity
  • There will be a lunch break during the day, and you can buy something to eat at the camp in Skjól. We advise bringing your own lunch
  • You must have a valid driving licence to drive a snowmobile
  • You can be alone or in twos on a snowmobile. The offer price is the price per person based on two people sharing a snowmobile.
  • Please wear suitable hiking boots and warm, waterproof clothing. A snow suit will be provided for the snowmobile drive
  • The essentials: warm clothes, gloves, hat, waterproof coat, and suitable footwear!
  • The ice cave is a natural cavity that may be inaccessible on arrival. If you are unable to access it on your tour, you will be reimbursed ISK 5,000 (approximately €33) per person
