Explore the glacial waters between two continents during this snorkeling trip into the Silfra fissure, in small groups!

Meet your expert guide at the Thingvellir national park (optional transport to/from Reykjavik), which is listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. The park is loacted in a valley of a rift that has been caused by the seperation of the two tectonic plates. Here, amoung the rocks, you can find the Sulfra fissure.

With your gear to protect you from the cold and a snorkeling mask, you will be able to swim freely and comfortably in the glacial waters. Discover one of the best diving sites in the world that reach all the way to Langjokull, about 50 kilometers from Thingvellir.

The clear waters will alow you to see as much as 150 meters around you. You can also get close to the volcanic rocks that are constantly moving. At the end, warm up with some hot choclate and a cookie.

If you have opted for transprtation, you will be taken back to Reykjavik.

During reservation, you may choose between pickup near your hotel or meeting at the main departure point on site.

Departure times:

  • without transport from Reykjavik: 10am (meet at 9:45am)
  • with transport from Reykjavik: between 8:30am and 9:30am, the exact time and place will be confirmed after reservation

Departure point: Silfra Fissure, about 40 km from Reykjavik, or near your hotel in Reykjavik

Duration: 3 hours on site (5 hours 30 minutes including transport)

Children under the age of 12 may not participate in this activity

A dry suit will be provided to keep you warm in the cold waaters while swimming

Visitors are advised to wear warm clothing ( to be worn underneath the dry suit that you will be loaned) that are made from wool or polar fleece.  You are also advised to bring a change of clothing just in case
