Get behind the wheel of a Go Car and explore San Diego! 

Alone or as a pair, climb aboard and start zipping through the streets. These mini 3-wheel cars have to be the quirkiest way to get around the city.

The car is equipped with an audio guide and GPS which will lead you towards the city's most beautiful sights. Choose an itinerary that matches the amount of time you have the GoCar for. For example, you can tour downtown San Diego by driving through Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy and the Old Town. Perhaps you'll prefer driving along the bay to discover the USS Midway aircraft carrier, or getting away to coast to admire the famous beaches of California – it's up to you to decide!

You might just choose to go where the wind takes you, just following your mood. During this tour you are completely free and independent!

This activity enables you to directly book a GoCar. It is not necessary to indicate the number of passengers but note that each GoCar is only suitable for 2 passengers. 

When making your reservation you will be asked to choose from the following options: 

  • 1 hour hire: In this time you will mainly be able to visit the city center (advised route). 
     
  • 2 hour hire: As well as the city center, you will also be able to drive around Balboa and Old Town (advised route). 
     
  • 3 hour hire: As well as the city center, Balboa and Old Town, you will also be able to drive to Point Loma and the beaches along the Pacific coast (advised route). 
     
  • 5 hour hire: You will be able to visit all of San Diego's most beautiful sites and the surrounding areas (advised route).

• Availability: every day (excluding exceptional dates)
• Duration: 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours or 5 hours
• Times: from 8am to 4pm
• Language: audio guides in English
• Departure location: San Diego city center (exact address indicated on your voucher)


• To take part in this activity, simply present your voucher to the service provider on the day
• Important: you must be at least 21 years old to hire a car! The passenger has to be over 4 years of age.
• Every driver must provide a valid driving license and credit card
• You can drive a GoCar with any American or foreign driving license.
• The driver must provide a $300 deposit on arrival (cash, cheque or credit card). This deposit will be recovered once the material has been returned in an acceptable state
• On arrival, you can sign up for insurance for the tour if you wish. You will have the choice of standard insurance for $12 or premium insurance for $19
• Maximum two people per car
• The GPS will suggest a number of tourist routes, but you are free to tour San Diego as you wish
• You can bring a CD to listen to while driving
• The GoCar travels at 55km/h
• If it rains you can change or cancel your tour without charge if you wish
• You must return your GoCar to the hire shop before sunset and within the specified hire time. An excess fee will be charged for every additional 15 minutes
