Visit the main part of the island of Santorini in one day with this fun guided tour!
After meeting up with your guide and driver, your guided tour of Santorini will begin in the village of Emporio. It is one of the oldest and most authentic villages on the island, constructed like a little maze. Take the time to wander the streets and admire the architecture as your guide tells you all the secrets and history of the village; next, visit the medieval fortress dating back to the 15th century.
The tour continues with Akrotiri, an archaeological site in the south of the island, sometimes called the 'prehistoric Pompeii'. The site, discovered in the late 1960s, was covered and preserved by one of the largest volcanic eruptions in human history in the 17th century.
You'll continue to Perissa beach, one of the longest black sand beaches in the Cyclades. Enjoy some free time relax and have a spot of lunch. This is the most popular beach on the island.
You'll continue on to a winery and taste three local Santorini wines. Your guide will show you some of the oldest vineyards in Europe.
You'll then stop off at the highest peak on the island, Mount Profitis Ilias, which reaches 567 metres high. Take the time to admire the panoramic views of the island.
Finally, head to Oia, a very popular village and the most photographed location in Greece. Enjoy some free time to watch the sunset in a magical setting.
