Departing from Saranda and accompanied by your guide, you'll drive to the Butrint archaeological site, 18 km from Saranda.
The Butrint archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a treasure trove for history and archaeology enthusiasts. You'll be able to observe remains dating from several eras, from the Bronze Age to the 19th century. Among the monuments still visible are the city walls, the ancient baptistery, the great basilica, the theater and the Venetian castles.
At lunchtime, you'll head off to a local restaurant to sample some of the region's specialties.
You'll then make your way to Lëkurës Castle. Perched atop a hill overlooking Saranda, this castle built by Turkish soldiers in the 17th century offers panoramic views of the region.
