Hire a Pocket Wi-Fi and get unlimited high-speed internet access during your stay in Japan!

Free Wi-Fi access is still rare in Japan, and it can be hard to find your way around a big city like Tokyo without a smartphone that's connected to the internet. 

The Pocket Wi-Fi is a mobile router that allows you to connect to a secure 4G LTE Wi-Fi network. You can get unlimited internet access throughout your stay across the whole of Japan, for the duration of your choice (from 3 days to 1 month).
You'll be able to use your transport apps at any time when you are on the move and keep in touch with your loved ones, etc.

The Pocket Wi-Fi allows you to connect up to 5 devices simultaneously and is compatible with all types of devices including:
- Laptops
- Smartphones
- Tablets
- Video game consoles

Thanks to its small, lightweight size, the Pocket Wi-Fi will easily slip into your handbag/daypack or even your pocket. Its battery life is approximately 10 hours.

You can collect your Pocket Wi-Fi on arrival in Japan from one of the collection points:
- Your hotel
- Tourist Information Centre in Harajuku (Tokyo)
- Post office in Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Nagoya and Sapporo airports

To return your Pocket Wi-Fi, nothing could be easier: at the end of your stay, slip the device and accessories into the provided prepaid envelope and post it through any letterbox in Japan!

You'll be asked to choose the collection point for the Pocket Wi-Fi when you book.

Buono a sapersi

  • Availability: every day (except under exceptional circumstances)
  • You can collect your Pocket Wi-Fi kit from one of the following collection points:
    - Your hotel
    - The tourist information centre in Harajuku (Tokyo)
    - The post offices at Tokyo (Narita and Haneda), Nagoya and Sapporo airports
  • If you want to pick it up at your hotel, please provide:
    - The name of your hotel
    - The reservation number and the name of the person who made the reservation
    - The date of arrival
    The Pocket Wi-Fi will be given to you when you check in
    Please note it cannot be sent to home addresses or youth hostels. Please select another collection point if you're not staying at the hotel while in Japan
  • The Harajuku Tourist Information Centre is open daily non-stop from 10am to 6pm. The full address can be found in your voucher
    Please present your voucher when collecting your kit
  • If you choose to pick it up from the airport, please fill in:
    - Airport name and arrival terminal number
    - Flight number and arrival time
  • Post office opening times are as follows:
    - Narita Airport (Tokyo): 8.30am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday / 8.30am to 6.00pm Saturday, Sunday and public holidays
    - Haneda Airport (Tokyo) Terminal 1: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday only / closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays
    - Chubu International Airport (Nagoya): 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday only / closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays
    - Shin-Chitose (Sapporo) airport: 9am to 5pm daily
    Please present your passport to collect your Pocket Wi-Fi (the name on the passport must be the same as the booking name)
    Please ensure that the post office is still open at least one hour after your flight arrival time. If your arrival time falls outside opening hours, please choose another collection point
  • A pre-paid envelope will be provided with the kit when you collect it. Please put the router and accessories into the envelope and post it from any post office or letterbox in Japan (including airports)
  • The connection speed will be slowed down if your usage is more than 10 GB per day
  • If you don't return the Pocket Wi-Fi on time, you'll be charged 700 yen per extra day
  • If the pocket Wi-Fi is lost or damaged, you'll be charged 28000 yen. If you take out the optional insurance, you'll not be charged in the event of loss/damage.
